NEC was actually a company called Nippon Electric Limited Partnership in the year 1898. After a partnership with the Western Electric Company, NEC proudly earned a name as being the first Japanese company to have a successful joint venture with foreign investors. Their first telephone system branch came about in the year 1978 in Dallas, Texas.
