PBX:  This is probably the most cost effective for medium companies.  For businesses over 40 employees, and are also great for internal communication.  Among the features are the ability to dial employees by name, by extension or if you need assistance you can dial directly to an operator.  When you first call into this system you will likely be greeted by a welcome message, much like if you have ever called a utility company, for instance.  Employees like this network because there is a private network within the organization, with the options of caller ID and voice mail.  

Automated Attendant:  Typically chosen for companies that have call centers or a large number of incoming calls.  This means that it can receive a large number of calls at the same time into the same number.  These calls can be routed to their intended destination by the voice information being turned into digital form and sent out.  They can even go to wherever you are, even if you are not in the office.

VOIP  (Voice Over Internet Protocol):  This type transmits video, images, data, etc.  This is all done in superior quality.  Adding a number of extensions can be done easily and is cost efficient.  It also incorporates a lot of additional features that other systems are probably charging extra fees to offer for their customers.

 There are business telephone systems for any business’s needs.  It’s just a matter of finding which one fits your company and will grow as it grows.
